Purple Baron
‘Purple Baron’s’ shiny, purple-burgundy foliage is rich, the darkest of all millets. Though short, 3 ft. ‘Purple Baron’ has a full, thick massive habit. Birds flock to its large flower spikes right up until frost. Robust, compact plants add a balanced look to mixed combos. Slightly darker purple than Purple Majesty, the leaves are shorter and wider. As with Purple Majesty, the young plants are green at first. The stem and mid-rib begin to develop purple color as they mature. Large, thick flower spikes on plants that are well branched.
